During the latest meeting of the Italian Physics Society, Gioacchino Alex Anastasi (Gialex), post-doc researcher in the Torino group, was awarded for the best oral presentation in the astroparticle physics session. The award is proposed yearly by the scientific committee for a single presentation based on its scientific content, the quality of the discussion and personal contribution of the presenter. The related paper will be published in a special issue of Il Nuovo Cimento in open access.

Gialex was awarded for his talk about “The Upgrade of the Pierre Auger Observatory - AugerPrime", in which he presented the motivations of the upgrade and its status, and his work on the extension of the dynamic range of the measurements in the surface detectors.
