QuarkNet helps high school students participate in cosmic ray science. Teachers and students assemble a classroom detector and upload data to a Web-based electronic lab, e-Lab. They use the e-Lab to analyze data, publish their findings as online posters, and have online discussions with one another about their work. Students can experience the environment of scientific collaborations and the frustrating joy of scientific research. Even those without detectors can use the e-Lab for data analysis and browsing.
